How to check that an escort profile is genuine

Why checking matters

Fake profiles, stolen photos, deposits demanded in gift cards: scams do exist in escort ads, but they are easy to spot once you know what to look for. This guide lists what to check before a first meeting, on Secret-Experience and elsewhere.

No verification replaces your own judgement. But a profile that has proven its identity and the authenticity of its photos spares you most bad surprises.

1. The “Verified” badge: what it proves, and what it doesn't

On Secret-Experience, a profile carries the “Verified” badge when the escort has passed two checks:

• an ID document (ID card or passport), confirming they are 18 or older;
• a selfie taken at the time of verification and compared with the profile photos: the photos really are theirs.

The documents are never published. The badge guarantees that the person exists and matches their photos; it says nothing about how a meeting will go.

Not every profile on the site is verified: only those with the badge are. Our high-class escort pages show verified profiles only.

2. Look at the photos with a critical eye

Photos are the first contact. Here is what to watch for:

• Consistency: do the photos show the same person from different angles and in different outfits? A genuine profile has natural variety.
• Quality or perfection: heavily retouched photos, strong filters or stock images are suspicious. Polished but natural photos are a good sign.
• Context: varied settings (apartment, restaurant, outdoors) point to a real person.
• Watermark: on Secret-Experience, public photos are moderated before publication and carry the site's watermark, which makes reusing them in other ads harder.
• Recent photos: current outfits and settings point to an up-to-date profile.

A profile with only one or two photos, all in the same setting, calls for more caution. Established escorts usually show several varied photos, often taken by a photographer.

3. Reviews: useful, if you know how to read them

When an escort has reviews (on a forum, a review site or their own website), look for:

• a number of reviews that fits the age of the profile: many reviews within a few days is suspicious;
• detailed, specific comments rather than a plain “great”;
• a rating that stays stable over time, with small natural variations: a perfect 5 out of 5 everywhere can hide fake reviews;
• replies from the escort, a sign they follow what is said about them.

On Secret-Experience, profiles can show reviews, but none have been published yet: judge first on the badge, the photos and the quality of the conversation.

4. Communication before the meeting

The quality of the first messages is a reliable indicator. A serious escort answers your questions clearly. Good signs:

• personal replies that show they read your message;
• clarity about rates, duration and terms;
• respect for your privacy: no requests for unnecessary personal details;
• willingness to have a short call before the meeting: someone with nothing to hide is happy to;
• a reasonable response time, usually a few hours.

5. Warning signs you should never ignore

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

• Payment upfront demanded in gift cards, cryptocurrency or by money transfer, especially from an unverified profile;
• Flat refusal of any call, however short;
• Pressure to meet immediately, without a real conversation;
• Unusually low rates for the city: often a sign of a scam or of problematic working conditions;
• Moving the conversation to WhatsApp or Telegram straight away, before any real exchange;
• Inconsistencies between the photos, the description and the way they write.

6. Tools you can use

• Reverse image search: Google Images or TinEye show whether a profile's photos appear elsewhere, under another name or in another city.
• Checking the number: if you exchange numbers, a short call confirms you are talking to the right person.
• Reporting: if a profile on Secret-Experience looks fake, report it from the profile page (account required): we check it.
